Welcome to the website of the West Mountain Railroad.
The West Mountain Railroad is the name of my model railroad. The WMR is an N scale freelanced model railroad. It represents a fictitious short line somewhere in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies. The railroad serves grain elevators, the oil and coal industries and several small manufacturers along the line.
Operationally the railroad interchanges with the Canadian Pacific Railroad for sending out grain, oil and refined petroleum, coal and manufactured goods. The CPR returns empties and manufactured goods via boxcars and intermodal.
So enjoy a virtual tour of the WMR or follow a car as it travels the rails of the WMR. There are also some pictures of the building of the road as well as a database of rolling stock. A howto section show some of the techniques I've used along the way.
